In-Town (Rec) Basketball: For Grades K–12

Run by parent volunteers, these 8-week introductory clinics focus on core skills and fundamentals. The Grade 2 clinics will include some scrimmaging in the second half of the season.

• Cancellations: The first snow day is not made up; we will reschedule additional cancellations after February vacation if possible.

Grade 2 (Marathon School)

> Time Preferences: You may request a specific time slot during registration. While we try to accommodate requests, they are not guaranteed, as final assignments depend on balanced team numbers and coach availability.

Weekly league play focuses on skill development and fun games. Players are grouped into separate boys and girls divisions, typically by grade bands: Grades 3-4, Grades 5-6 and Grades 7-8.

Season Schedule

• Practices Begin: Dec. 2

• Games Begin: Dec. 6

• Game Times: Games are held on Saturdays between 3-7 p.m. at school gyms in Hopkinton (game and practice schedules will be announced in mid-November)

• Winter Break: No games Dec. 26 or Jan. 2

• Playoffs Start: Late January

• Season Ends: Feb. 6 (Weeknight championship games may follow for some divisions)

• Cost: $120

Weekly Practice Days

• Girls (All Grades): Wednesday evenings

• Boys (Grades 5-8): Thursday evenings

• Boys (Grades 3-4): Friday evenings

Important League Policies

• Uniforms: Players will need a reversible green/white jersey for games and practices. We will open an online store in late October where jerseys can be purchased. Past year’s jerseys can be used. HBA travel players can use their travel jersey.

• Teammate Requests: Requests for specific teammate pairings are not accepted as they make it too challenging to form balanced teams.

• Low Enrollment: If a division lacks enough players for a full league, it will switch to a pickup format (players are split into teams each Saturday). Weeknight practices remain.
