Metrowest League 2026-27
Metrowest League
All Hopkinton travel teams participate in the Metrowest Basketball League. The regular season runs from early December through late February, and then the league playoffs are in early March.
📌 Key Details:
- The 2026-27 regular season begins Dec. 6 and ends Feb. 28.
- Most — if not all — of each team’s league games will be on Sundays (could be any time of day). Occasionally there could be a game on Saturday, as some towns have limited gym availability on Sundays. And makeup games could be scheduled for a Saturday or even a weeknight. The coaches work together to determine a makeup day/time that would work best for both teams.
- The league sets the schedule and might make a few midseason changes if a team is doing exceptionally well or struggling. These changes in turn could affect other teams, so coaches and parents are encouraged to check their team’s schedule on a regular basis at the Metrowest Website →.
- All teams make the playoffs, and the divisions are reformed based on record/rating so that there will be balanced groups for the postseason.
- Playoff format is single elimination — once a team loses, its season ends.
- Playoffs for the 2026-27 season start March 3, and teams could have a game as late as March 14.
- The league has a no-tolerance policy regarding behavior at games. Parents/fans should never make negative comments to referees as well as opposing fans, players and coaches. Parents/fans, coaches and players also should never approach a referee after a game. As per league rules, any negative comments or even a rules question to a referee postgame is not allowed. If the official reports the behavior to the league, the parent/fan, coach or player is automatically suspended for the next game.
